Education
We are living in difficult times. The gap between the rich and poor keeps expanding, while the natural environment continues to erode away under the forces of rapid population growth and consumerism. Our little charity has been trying to do something about this for 25 years, but the situation is getting worse not better.
As well as sending people to volunteer with our linked projects abroad we run a vibrant education programme in our home town of Cheltenham. We believe that ultimately all education should be education for the environment. We run film screenings, workshop programmes, book clubs and talks from our HQ that all aim to help people connect, be active, keep learning, take notice and give. According to the New Economics Foundation, these are the five ways to wellbeing, we believe that an enjoyable life is about doing these things in socially and environmentally responsible ways. Our cutting edge education programme aims to help people learn and experience this.
